EDISON, NJ - James Monroe Elementary School and its children need help.

Monroe Elementary was consumed by fire Saturday evening in Edison Township, and while officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire and look for temporary facilities to finish the school year, a Monroe teacher and principal have taken the initiative to begin replacing the children's books that were lost in the fire.

Stephanie Fay Cardoso, a teacher in the Edison school district, along with Monroe Principal Lynda Zapoticzny, put together a list of immediate needs which includes an extensive list of children's books which can be found on Amazon.com at the following link titled, James Monroe Edison NJ Wishlist. https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/ref=cm_reg_rd-upd?ie=UTF8&id=3EUX8YCA2J6XQ&type=wishlist

The majority of books listed are inexpensive, starting at a few dollars each, and would go a long way towards helping out a school and community in need.

To assist parents, teachers, and students the following was published on the Edison Township Public School website and Facebook
